Safer Car

Well, we traded the HHR and got a Subaru Forester. We were dumping almost $200 every other month in the HHR as things started to go wrong at 98K miles and frankly it was downright depressing. The Forester is of course AWD and has side impact air bags and a rollover curtain for extreme driving. Done

Hay for the year is done. We unloaded the other 40 bales this morning. Now all I need to do is sweep the trailer out and clean my truck up, and reorganize all the tools in the barn (since currently they are all in Danny’s stall). What a relief. I have such a wonderful wife and a great dad. Man, those ponies are a lot of work. How do people deal with more than 2 horses?

Got 200 bales of hay. 40 still needs unloaded from my truck sitting in barn. Real bummer is cats will probably run all over truck tonight. Grrrrrrr. More tomorrow. Going to sleep, well, shower first.

Good and bad

So the good news is we get to get hay tomorrow. The bad news is my cough hasn’t stopped, so I will probably be super worse by Saturday. Redneck horse fly trap installed today to try to help out Shala Bar. She has now taken to running from the flies to try to escape their wrath. French Creek Wildlife Area

Well, we took the kids to the WV State Wildlife area in French Creek, WV. We then went down to Helvetia, WV which is a small Swiss town and ate the Hutte restaurant. One great thing about this town is there is absolutely no cell service, and we didn’t get it back until we got past Czar, WV. Here are some pictures:
